Maypole world record
SES played an integral part in a recent successful ‘New World Record’ The world’s largest ever maypole dance. Official Guinness world record holders - Congleton.
Always keen to support their hometown of Congleton, the SES team got together and installed a 30 metre steel pole that enabled the attempt to take place. The pole was designed and stress tested at their factory before being installed on site. Go to web link for the full story...
We' set a new World Record for the Largest Maypole Dance!
Guinness World Record Team in London has confimed Congleton' claim at setting a new World Record for the Largest Maypole Dance. The new record stands at 146. 150 Primary School children, with help from a number of trained reserves, from 11 schools completed the five minute dance on 21st May 2008. The ten judges scrutinising the dance ruled that four of the children needed to be eliminated from the total.
